Our Program Could Not Survive Without Our Devoted Volunteers

Life As A Volunteer

As a lesson volunteer, you’ll receive training on how to help lead a horse, provide support as a side walker, help prepare and groom horses, and other opportunities.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life and help out as a fun and rewarding way to meet service hour requirements, give back to the community, spend time in a relaxing, outdoor environment, connect with horses, and help people.

**You must sign up for the Volunteer Orientation to reserve your slot. Space is limited; sign up HERE.

Requirements

Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age, fill out the required paperwork in its entirety, and complete a volunteer orientation. We also require you to volunteer at a minimum once a quarter but preferably once a month. Please read the handbook prior to your first volunteer shift.

Kathy Park and Steve Swanson are two amazing individuals with an endless amount of energy and care for our riders and the program. They spend an incredible amount of time at the ranch to make sure Great Plains is successful in every way. They come to the ranch every day with a smile on their face and love in their hearts! Steve and Kathy we thank you for your dedication to the kids! We can’t do it without amazing volunteers like you!

“Volunteers are not paid - - not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless!”
